first International Conference on the theme "Who’, ‘What’, ‘How’: ELT in the Global Context"


Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus is organizing its first International Conference on the theme "Who’, ‘What’, ‘How’: ELT in the Global Context" on May 18-19, 2013.The conference is supported by Regional English Language Office (RELO US Embassy) and British Council and is in association with ELT@I.

As the world shifts into a global society and English increasingly becomes the language of transaction across the globe; educational institutions have a pivotal role to play in preparing tomorrow’s leaders with the needed English language skills. As a result, the nature of English Language teaching has to undergo change as it meets the demands of preparing students’ for a global economy. The ‘Who’ we teach is changing as learners are learning the language for different purposes. The ‘What’ we teach is changing as we move towards‘Global English’ and the varying demands of our learners in the new age. The ‘How’ we teach is changing as technology has revolutionized the way we teach.
The highlights of the Conference are plenary sessions and workshops by renowned ELT experts from the US and India.
Papers related to the theme and objectives of the conference are invited from scholars. The shortlisted papers would be published in the proceedings with an ISBN number.
